1867

The Original Jolly Corks

Founded in 1867, the Elks began as a drinking club called the “Jolly Corks” to evade laws closing saloons on Sundays, and evolved into a service-oriented group known as the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.).

1901

The Charter of the Pasadena Elks, Lodge 672 established in July 1901.

1915

The Pasadena Elks, Lodge 672 was constructed in 1911 by architect Myron Hunt.

1920

The Fireside Room in 1920, which looks very similar to today.

1921

The Pasadena Elks have a long history with the Rose Parade including in 1921, the entry of the Elks’ first motorized float.

1932

The Pasadena Elks Lodge following a rare snowstorm in January, 1932.

1944

The Grand Exalted Ruler visits the Elks Lodge in 1944.

1987

The Pasadena Elks Lodge following the 1987 Whittier Narrows earthquake that caused significant damage, 200 injuries, and eight deaths.

1995

The Elks entry in the 1995 Rose Parade titled “Hoop Shoot.”

2001

Pasadena Elks 100 Year Anniversary

The Pasadena Elks Lodge turned 100 years old in 2001, which called for a celebration.
