THE PURPLE PIG
The Purple Pig is the fundraising arm for the California-Hawaii Elks Association Major Project, Inc. (CHEMPI), which has raised over $140.5 million since 1950. This initiative focuses on addressing the needs of children with disabilities by providing crucial support services at no cost to their families.
CHEMPI’s programs include Occupational Therapy, where therapists work with parents to teach children essential skills such as feeding, dressing, and sensory integration. Physical Therapy aims to enhance children’s motor skills and strength through personalized home visits. Speech-Language Therapy helps diagnose and treat children’s communication disorders with a tailored home therapy program. And, Pediatric Vision Screeners travel to schools and identify children’s visual issues early to prevent long-term impairment.
Through these comprehensive services, CHEMPI and the Purple Pig continue their mission to empower children with disabilities, ensuring they achieve greater independence and a brighter future.

ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMS (ENF)
The mission of the Elks National Foundation is to help Elks build stronger communities. We fulfill this pledge by investing in communities where Elks live and work. Amongst other things, we provide tomorrow’s leaders, our youth, with lifelong skills; we meet the existential needs of today’s veterans; we help our state’s Elks association accomplish their charitable objectives; and, we fund projects that improve the quality of life in local Elks communities.
The Pasadena Elks is actively involved in Community Investment Programs, Student Scholarship Programs, Elks National Veterans Service Program, Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest, and Elks Drug Awareness Program.
OUR PROMISE TO VETERANS
Elks pledge “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.” The Elks take that pledge one step further, and promise service to our nation’s veterans and military members, with a special focus on service to those in need.
Elks volunteers give generously of their time, energy, and resources to serve veterans and military members. Through grants, events, and activities, we connect with veterans and military members in our communities and provide them with services where they live. Elks help veterans rehabilitate and thrive through adaptive sports programs and therapy kits. And, Elks’ national Welcome Home initiative is reaching out to some of our most vulnerable veterans: those who are experiencing homelessness.
